About Grace Tibbetts

To do more on your behalf, Grace Tibbetts is announcing she is running for Maine senate district 8.

Grace has devoted herself to public service since moving to Lincoln in 2008. She has started , with numerous groups promoting the well being of others and the environment, as well as being an active member to the community evangelism temple (CET). Currently, she is serving on the RSU67 school board and Lincoln Town planning board.

Her first group, Lincoln Conservation Association, Grace promoted a farmer’s market, community gardens, children’s gardens at the library, as well as outdoor field trips for children. Working alongside Penobscot county herbal society, she and others taught natural healing and herbalism skills.

Grace began the Lincoln Homeschooling group which sought to bring families together for classes, playdates, and field trips. At the public library and church, with the Greater Lincoln Christian Academy, also as a substitute for RSU 67, she taught classes to children in a great variety of subjects.

With CET she has volunteered her time working with the afterschool programs, cooking for the impact cafe, helping with plays, Sunday school, summer camps, and is presently a preschool teacher there.

She also worked with Penquis as a parent partner for families involved with child protection, in which she built bridges between families and DHHS through teaching and advocacy.

Before moving to Lincoln, Grace served 16 years in the military,  army and air force as a helicopter mechanic and flight medic. She went to SUNY Cobleskill with a degree in Environmental studies, obtained a master gardening certification from the UMO Cooperative extension, is a certified herbalist, and a devoted wife and mother.

Recently Grace formed Common Sense Politics to help ordinary folks select and elect candidates who embrace grass roots virtues and common sense governance.

When asked why she seeks to become a Maine District 8 senator, Grace Tibbetts replied, “I love living in Maine and cherish the freedoms enshrined in Maine’s constitution and in the Bill of Rights. It is the law of the land and yet somehow our elected officials have forgotten that.

Since COVID these freedoms have been stripped away. I call my group common sense because COVID has made people lose their sense of logical thinking. Instead of talking about cures and ways to boost immunity naturally, we have been pushed into taking experimental vaccines with serious detrimental side effects.  And schools with their mandates, school closures, remote schooling, and quarantining are pushing our children to developmental delays and mental health issues. There has to be a time when we’ve had enough. And that means ordinary people running for office and learning how to use the constitution the way it was created… for the people and by the people.”

Grace has always had a heart for people and service. She believes with her hard work and dedication to the people she serves, she would make a great candidate as a state senator for district 8.
